About Christian Home Gifts

Welcome to our website! We are a totally unique Christian home gift store! I suggest you visit Our Workshop to fully understand our embroidered items. Most of our unembroidered gifts are by different vendors who are putting God’s word on Christian home gifts other than cloth. Gifts that do not have God’s word are used to help demonstrate how the items can be incorporated into your home in an inspiring way. We all know God’s first plan of action in Genesis was to create a beautiful environment for us to enjoy. We can set a beautiful environment using Christian home gifts in our own homes!

We are located in Pawleys Island, S.C. on Ocean Highway in our beautiful lowcountry building. We have not always been located here —getting here was quite a process! One Christmas, I was tired of giving the same old, same old gifts. I decided to have pillow cases embroidered with scripture. My friends absolutely loved them and began to encourage me to open a business that offered the word of God embroidered on items-Christian home gifts. A friend helped me brainstorm a name that would communicate who we wanted to be. Thus, “Choose today whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15) was chosen. Deuteronomy 6:4-9, was the scripture that inserts His command and our action into our Christian home gifts store. The commandments are to be upon our hearts, impressed upon our children, talked about when we sit down, walk along the road, lie down, and get up, and written on our doorframes and gates. That is quite a command!

I began our Christian home gift business with a friend, Elizabeth Marshall, in November of 2000. We decided our specific purpose statement would be “filling homes with God’s truth.” We hit the road taking our Christian home gifts into the homes of wonderful Christians who were excited about getting scripture into their homes! Sadly, after 2 years, my Elizabeth found it difficult to juggle her family and the business.

I prayed diligently for a partner with the resources and passion for the purpose of the business “filling homes with God’s truth,” and He sent Linda Poole. One of the first things she did was to build a wonderful building to put on Highway 17, so more people could see us. Not only could Christians find us easier but, she believed that our Christian home gift business could actually serve as an evangelism tool to everyone who came in. As God has blessed this business, and people have come and gone, we have witnessed His touch though tears, joy, total surprise as never having seen anything like it, and the sharing of pain and blessings in people’s lives.

Linda’s sudden death in August 2006 was a real blow to all who knew her and loved her. I praise God that He has continued to bless this Christian home gifts business that Linda believed in and helped move to a setting that so many could enjoy.

It is my joy that the Lord “sets me at tasks that require my very best, and leads me into accomplishments that delight and satisfy!”

Blessings,

Margaret Murphy
